Disc to Digital (D2D)
D2D is a feature that allows users to convert their DVD/BluRay discs into digital content.
CHALLENGE
Vudu users must use multiple devices and perform a lengthy process (10+ steps) to convert their DVD library into digital format. This cumbersome process adds friction to the conversion process and lowers user satisfaction.
Can this process be improved?
APPROACH
Given the goal, the first step was understanding the current pain points for the user to create the best solution.
Based on the analysis, we set the high-level target as a simple 3 step process:
Scan -> Convert -> Watch!!!
The aim is to get the user to the end state of consuming the digital content as quickly as possible
SOLUTION
The complexity was creating a process that can be finished in 3 steps. The screens were intentionally kept clean without extra information related to the movie. The whole flow matches the marketing story of 3 steps. The information conveyed on the screen was focused towards the result for the user.
Conversation Process
SCAN -> CONVERT -> WATCH
